FIRST REGIONAL ENCOUNTER FOR HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICAL WORK

The “First Patagonian Encounter for High Voltage Electrical Work” was held in September 2008, organized by INCRO’s Center for Technical Training. Within a framework of competition and fellowship, specialized workers in the Golfo San Jorge petroleum basin had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and simultaneously compare their techniques with those of their colleagues, with the goal of improving their daily performance. One of the important things about this event is that it was the first competitive event of its type in the country, which had great repercussion among those in the sector and especially in the area of safety.

During the encounter, workers specialized in working with high voltage demonstrated their skills in the tasks, always under the supervision of a strict jury of experts composed of the representatives of the companies, and where the safety measures were the first points to be evaluated.

In the competition, they evaluated the use of tools, safety elements, equipment, procedures, teamwork, and as already mentioned, respect for safety standards, in tasks where errors are not an option, due to the fact that these are tasks where the lines are permanently energized.
